Birch Residence
A Toronto row house layered with art, colour, and personality, designed to evolve over time.
Layered, Lived-In, and a Little Bit Fun
I’ve worked with this client for years, through many different stages of life – which always makes things more interesting.
What started as a traditional space has been opened up and added onto, including a rear addition that brings in more light and creates a better flow.
She has a great eye and a strong art collection, so the design was built around that. Colour, texture, and a few unexpected choices (including a wallpapered powder room that tends to get all the attention) bring personality into every corner.
Nothing feels overly styled or fixed in place. Artwork moves, rooms shift, and we continue to tweak things as her life changes.
It’s personal, a little quirky, and very much her… which is always the goal.
